A new, harder, edgier music is pushing its way into the mainstream music scene. Hardcore/metal music is coming out of the woodwork at a fast pace. It is finally time to say goodbye to all that cute and fluffy music that reminds you of those lame middle school slow dances. Pop music certainly still has a large following, but the hard and heavy is luring in handfuls of fans by the minute.

The heavy metal/hardcore music scene is rapidly gaining popularity. Bands such as Finch and The Ataris have made their way onto the MTV play list. There are countless other hardcore/metal bands, though, that you may not have heard of that are as good, if not better, than these bands. If you are a music lover who is curious about other genres of music, or if you are already into heavy music, then you should definitely check out the Take Action Tour.

On Sept. 22 the Take Action Tour, featuring hardcore/metal bands such as Poison The Well, Dillinger Escape Plan, Further Seems Forever, Eighteen Visions, Shai Hulud, Since By Man, Avenged Sevenfold, This Day Forward, Shadows Fall, Throwdown, Himsa, These Arms Are Snakes and more, will be coming to Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte. The Take Action Tour, presented by Sub City Records, a division of Hopeless Records, hopes to raise awareness and funds for The National Hopeline Network, an organization that raises awareness of suicide.

In addition to the tour, bands such as The Ataris, Rufio, Boy Sets Fire, The Division of Laura Lee and others have contributed their music to the Take Action! Volume 3 double CD to help raise funds for a number of other non-profit organizations. The Take Action! Volume 3 CD, is due out Sept. 9 on Sub City Records.
