Ever since the beginning of this age, a war has raged on between two great superpowers. The great industrial power of the PC and the powerhouse known as Mac have been competing with each other to the point where you can actually see physical representations of each arguing with each other over which is best…or dueling each other with light sabers. But is one really better than the other?

The Mac is a great machine. When you buy a Mac, it is a seeming powerhouse of technology and keeps on performing well throughout its life.

Mac seems to be dedicated to providing a quality machine for you, a rare thing in this world of cheap and easy in which we live. So Mac gets a perfect score for quality.

Take the PC on the other hand. You buy a base model PC and you don't get half as much as you get out of a Mac. PC's tend to take the opposite side of the spectrum, cheap but poor quality. It is the kind of computer your everyday person could afford.

That isn't to say that PC's are no good and Macs are the only good choice, far from it in fact. PC's have the wonderful quality of being customizable.

While the Mac has a higher quality base model, a top of the line PC tends to be better than the Mac for extremely taxing work that pushes the limits.

The PC has both a lower starting model and a higher top end, a good quality for people who are looking to "pimp their rides." Macs on the other hand tend to be very difficult to upgrade as far as the hardware is concerned.

So the Mac and PC have different qualities, does that mean that one is better than the other? The answer is of course not. The two computers tend to be marketed to completely different audiences.

The sheer quality of the Mac and seeming ease of use of the system makes it perfect for graphics type work. In fact, they tend to use Macs in Hollywood. The PC on the other hand tends to be marketed towards two kinds of people.

One, people who need a cheap computer for simple tasks; and two, people who will upgrade for the high performance necessities of gaming. The second kind of person, myself included, wants a computer that can take you deep into the realm of gaming with no glitches and beautiful graphics.

They want a PC because it not only has a great ability to be customized, but because most games don't run on Macs. Is a PC better than a Mac? No, they both have their uses and a smart user knows the balance between the two.
