There seems to be a lot of new things in store for spring 2009. New policies, new Greeks, new beginnings and new endings but most importantly there is a new graduating class of 2009. With graduation right around the corner, many are so ready to start that new life and branch out, truly, in to the real world.
Although college life is coming to an end, the work will begin. Interviews are going to become one of the most aspects in getting a job and if you don’t go about them the correct way, your new life will be a tragedy. With thanks to The National Association of Black Accountants, your interview and new future can be saved.
On Wednesday, April 22, 2009 NABA along with Infinity Modeling Troupe the organizations held their first annual “The Business Report” in Afterhours at 7:00pm, hosted by Kion Sanders and Asha Green. Admission was free and open to the public so that all could see UNCC students strut their “stuff” on the stage.
The main focus of the spring 2009 Fashion Show was to offer live examples of the correct way to wear business attire to an interview in order to win that new job. The show opened up with an interview section where it was strictly “business.”
All of the models stepped on the stage wearing their finest business suits and looked extremely suave. Business casual was another category of the fashion show where models displayed the best way to go when one is allowed to dress down on the job. Before the finale, there was a contest held where random audience members were given the opportunity the exhibit their attire to the crowd and win the prize of best business wear. The two winners were Alisha Benjamin and Jon Vandeveer. The big prize was $25.00 cash.
Even though NABA can’t help you with the answers to the questions in the interview, they could definitely help with dressing apart in order to impress that future boss. Sometimes it’s not always about what you say, but what you are wearing while you are answering those questions. It’s all about first impressions and it’s great to start off a new life with a new job because of a new look.
