Both the men's and women's track teams open their spring season this weekend with the 49er Classic at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Complex. The three day track meet will start Thursday morning with the start of the decathlon and heptathlon competitions and run through Saturday afternoon.
The Charlotte women's basketball team will host Virginia Commonwealth in the first round of the WNIT tournament this Saturday at noon. The Forty-Niners are making their sixth straight postseason tournament, the last five of which have been to the WNIT. Charlotte, under the direction of first year head coach Karen Aston, finished the season with an 18-13 record and will be hosting the Rams from VCU who finished 25-7.
