Any 49er that has spent countless hours in Atkins Library studying the ridiculous amount of material that will be on his next test hopefully knows about the not-so-secret hideaway on the ground level, Ritazza.

Here you can get hot coffee, iced coffee, smoothies, and various teas, not to mention the fresh (really, it’s fresh) food. Both the Atkins Library Ritazza and the Fretwell Ritazza offer very comfortable seating, so you can relax with your hot cup of Joe and a copy of the University Times.

The people that work here are some of the most amiable people I have met here at UNC Charlotte. Therefore, I feel it necessary to stop and say, “Thanks.” Many thanks to the baristas that make those crazy concoctions that taste so good, and energize us to the point where we can at least start to make progress.

They always greet us with a smile and suggest new things to try; to date I haven’t tried something that was recommended to me and not liked it. I feel as if these people go without the appreciation they deserve, so this is my thanks to the baristas at Ritazza. Without you all, I would never be able to get through my day.

Here’s to you, mocha-making, smoothie-blending, panini-pressing, Ritazza employee; you provide an appealing alternative to RDH.
